Classes & curriculum details

Our post master’s curriculum includes MSN core courses designed to help you learn what it means to be a decision maker influencing big-picture organizational changes. Study and training include analysis of the impact of regulatory healthcare agencies, the evolving healthcare landscape, and ethical and legal principles regarding healthcare delivery to diverse populations.

All lecture classes are delivered online, and the program includes 135 total clinical hours. Our goal is to prepare you best to succeed in your work in nursing leadership and administration.

The post master’s nursing leadership and administration certificate program is open to registered nurses who:

  1. Hold a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited university or college (such as a master’s or doctoral degree)  
  2. Hold a current, active and unrestricted license as a registered nurse in the state in which they live (Note: Holding a multi-state, compact state license and being a resident in a compact license state will be deemed to have met this requirement).

To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must be actively enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student in good academic standing and plan to enroll in the Fall. In addition, an applicant must be a female resident of Wisconsin and have a financial need as determined by Herzing University based on eligibility for the Pell Grant.

Rath Distinguished Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, merit, and leadership.

Requirements

Must be an actively enrolled student in good standing. If an entering first year student, the scholarship applicants must have graduated among the top 25 percent of their high school class. If a sophomore, junior, or senior, applicants must have demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). In addition, scholarship recipients are to demonstrate strong campus and community leadership. Applicants must be enrolled through the Fall semester.
